Job summary

L3Harris Technologies seeks an Associate, Software Engineering in Lynchburg, VA to apply CS, engineering, and analysis in developing embedded software for real-time control of advanced tactical radio equipment.

You will collaborate with hardware and software teams to meet performance requirements and participate in all SDLC phases, delivering robust software across Windows, Linux, and RTOS environments.

Qualifications

• Pursuing or completed a bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, software engineering, electrical engineering or related field
• Open to recent graduates within 12 months of degree completion
• Knowledge of software development life cycle and embedded systems

Responsibilities

• Apply CS, engineering, and mathematical analysis to develop software for the target application
• Work with cross-functional teams to develop interfaces between hardware and software and define performance requirements
• Support all phases of the software development life cycle for embedded software in real-time control of tactical radio equipment
• Develop software test procedures, programs, and related documentation
• Utilize modeling tools to gather operating data, conduct tests, and evaluate results
• Participate in peer reviews, identify, track, and repair defects
• Use various languages (C++, C#, C, Java, Ruby, HTML5, XML, SQL, Perl, Python, Ajax, Qt) on Windows, Linux, RTOS environments

Job Description

• Apply computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis concepts and principles in the development of software for the target application
• Work closely with cross functional members of the engineering organization to develop and evaluate interfaces between hardware and software, and operational performance requirements and design of the overall system
• Support and participate in all phases of the software development life cycle, including requirements analysis, design, implementation, integration, and test of embedded software for real-time control of advanced tactical radio equipment
• Develop software test procedures, software programs, and related documentation
• Utilize modeling tools and equipment to establish operating data, conduct experimental tests, and evaluate results

Qualifications

• To be eligible, applicants must be pursuing a bachelor's degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Wireless Engineering, Information Security, Mathematics, Digital Arts & Sciences or related field or have completed their bachelor's degree within the last 12 months, regardless of age.

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in Colorado state, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New York state, Cleveland Ohio, Vermont and Virginia is $66,000-$123,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
