Job summary

Karmak, Inc. is seeking a Software Developer to join a collaborative Agile team in Illinois. You will contribute to the full software lifecycle, from design to deployment, focusing on VB.NET/C# .NET applications and Azure deployments.

The role emphasizes high-quality code, unit tests, and documentation, with opportunities to work on various business domains such as POS, accounting, inventory, and CRM. Occasional travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent with relevant experience.
• 1–2 years building web-based VB.NET/C# .NET apps using Visual Studio.
• Experience in Agile/Scrum is a plus.
• Experience deploying on Microsoft Azure is a plus.
• Experience with POS, accounting, inventory, sales, trucking or CRM domains is a plus.
• Occasional travel may be required.

Essential Job Functions

• Work on a collaborative mid-size team of Software Developers delivering consistent, high quality software
• Create accurate, unambiguous designs for new computer software and/or updates to existing software
• Create efficient, high quality, readable code, unit tests, and documentation
• Assist with code reviews to help team member develop skills
• Proven ability to be accountable on roadmap deliverables within quality process and standards
• Diagnose and design system/software and performance issues

Essential Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent, relevant experience
• 1-2 years of experience building web-based VB.NET/C# .NET applications using Microsoft Visual Studio
• Experience in an Agile/Scrum environment a plus
• Experience designing, developing, and deploying applications on the Microsoft Azure platform a plus
• Experience building applications for any of the following areas a plus: Point of Sale, Accounting, Inventory management, Sales management, Trucking or automotive service management, Customer Relationship Management
• Occasional annual travel may be required.
