Job summary

Lucid Motors in Chicago, IL is seeking an Associate Service Technician to perform Pre-Delivery Inspections (PDI), detail services, test drives, and basic repairs on Lucid vehicles before delivery. You will document interactions using the service software and support the mobile service team as needed.

Qualified candidates will be 18+ years old, able to learn high/low voltage, and possess strong customer-facing communication.

Qualifications

• Customer-facing experience and strong communication skills.
• Able to use basic computer applications such as MS Office.
• Willingness to complete Lucid-provided CPR training post-hire.
• Valid driver’s license with no suspensions in the past year.
• Drivers under 21 must have a Driver’s License for a minimum of 3 years and complete Lucid training on hire.

Responsibilities

• Basic repairs on Lucid vehicles including parts replacement, tire/wheel Exchange, testing, and work orders for delivery.
• Document all vehicle interactions using the appropriate software.
• Perform software updates on cars during inspection process.
• Communicate and collaborate with service team and customers.
• Learn High/Low Voltage systems.
• Support mobile service team remotely as needed; travel may be required.

Associate Service Technician – You will focus on performing Pre‑Delivery Inspections (PDI), detail services, test drives, and basic repairs on Lucid vehicles before customers take delivery. You will demonstrate your passion for sustainable transportation and creatively solve problems in a fast‑paced environment. An Associate Service Technician is expected to have ASE certifications obtained within 6‑8 months of hire date, which Lucid will reimburse.

Responsibilities

• Basic repairs on Lucid vehicles including but not limited to: remove and replace parts, body adjustments, tire and wheel exchanges, functionality testing, test driving, and work order administration on vehicles for delivery, etc.
• Effectively work with the appropriate software suite to properly and completely document all vehicle interactions.
• Perform software updates as needed on cars in the process of inspection.
• Effectively communicate and collaborate with other members of the service team (i.e., advisor, manager, etc.) as well as customers.
• Learn High/Low Voltage systems.
• Demonstrate attention to detail and passion for creating positive client experiences.
• Ability to work remotely and support mobile service team as needed; travel may be required.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• 18+ years of age or older.
• Able to learn the High/Low Voltage process.
• Customer‑facing experience exhibiting excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to use basic computer applications such as Microsoft Office as well as learn proprietary DMS software.
• Willingness to complete Lucid provided CPR training post‑hire.
• Valid driver’s license with no suspensions within the past year. Drivers under 21 must have a Driver’s License for a minimum of 3 years and successfully complete Lucid training upon hire.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in automobile repair environments.
• Prior experience with Pre‑Delivery Inspections (PDI).
• Previous experience with EV diagnosis and repair.
• Basic electronic principles.
• Willingness to obtain ASE Certification per Lucid’s Career Framework and additional required licenses (A4, A5, A6, A7).
• EPA 609 Certification (willing to obtain upon hire).
