Job summary

Pearson is seeking qualified scorers to evaluate Florida teacher candidate responses remotely. Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree or higher, a current teaching certification, and have 5+ years of relevant experience. Scoring aligns with Florida standards and requires weekday availability.

Work starts in fall 2026, with a starting rate of $17.50 per hour and remote scoring sessions from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM EST. Pearson is an Equal Opportunity Employer.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher required.
• Current teaching certification in the subject area and 5+ years of recent public school service in that subject.
• Hold or have held a college/university position in the same subject area with at least 5 years of teaching in that subject.

• Internalize scoring standards, participate in discussions, and engage with other scorers in scoring activities.
• Meet quality and productivity requirements for the scoring program, including passing a qualifying test before scoring.
• Starting rate of $17.50 per hour.
• Scoring sessions are remote and occur on weekdays.

We have immediate openings for candidates to score the subjects below remotely.

Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree or higher, and
• A current teaching certification in the subject area you are applying for AND be practicing or have five (5) or more years’ recent experience in the service role in a public school in the subject area you are applying for

OR

• A bachelor’s degree or higher, and
• Hold or have held a position at a college, university or a community college in the same subject area that they will be scoring and have at least 5 years of teaching experience in the same subject area you will be scoring,

All scorers must be approved to score by the Florida Department of Education.

Both active and recently retired practitioners can be eligible to score provided you are available to work on a weekday from 8:30 AM EST to 4:00 PM EST.

Working Conditions

Training takes place before scoring begins. There may be a brief orientation meeting before the day of scoring occurs.

Scoring sessions take place during the week Monday through Friday. Scoring sessions will occur on one day, every 2 weeks. The scoring day runs from 8:30 AM to approximately 4:30 PM EST, including training. There are no evening or weekend shifts.

This position will start in fall 2026.
