Job summary

Pearson is seeking qualified individuals to score Georgia teacher licensure test responses remotely, evaluating student work according to scoring standards. This role offers a starting rate of $17.50 per hour and remote work, with sessions Monday–Friday, eight-week cycles.

Candidates must hold a bachelor's degree or higher and a valid subject-specific teaching certificate with recent public-school experience, or equivalent college faculty experience. US work eligibility is required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant subject.
  • Current teaching certification in the subject area and active practice or recent experience in a public school.
  • Alternatively, college/university faculty experience preparing candidates.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate responses to test questions by Georgia teacher candidates.
  • Internalize scoring standards, participate in discussions, and engage with other scorers in consensus scoring activities.
  • Recognize and discuss bias types and strategies to reduce personal biases in scoring.
  • Meet quality and productivity requirements established for the scoring program, including passing a qualifying test before scoring.
  • Starting rate of $17.50 per hour.
  • Working remotely.

We have immediate openings for candidates to score the subjects below remotely :

  • Instructional Technology
Qualifications
  • A bachelor’s degree or higher, and
  • A current teaching certification in the subject area you are applying for AND be practicing or have two (2) or more years’ recent experience in the service role in a public school in the subject area you are applying for

OR serve as, or have recently served as, a college/university/program faculty member who prepares candidates for the subject you are applying for

and MUST NOT be a current Georgia educator/based in the State of Georgia .

Both active and recently retired practitioners can be eligible to score.

  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time
  • Ability to maintain a confidential work environment
  • Eligible to work in the United States
Overall Responsibilities
  • Evaluate responses to test questions by Georgia teacher candidates
  • Internalize scoring standards, participate in discussions, and engage with other scorers in consensus scoring activities
  • Recognize and discuss various types of bias (e.g., implicit bias, cultural bias, leniency bias, central tendency bias, halo effect) and effect strategies to reduce personal biases in scoring
  • Meet quality and productivity requirements established for the scoring program, including passing a qualifying test before scoring
  • Starting rate of $17.50 per hour
  • Working remotely
Working Conditions

Scoring sessions take place during the week Monday through Friday. Scoring sessions will occur on five consecutive days every 8 weeks. The scoring day runs from 8:30 a.m. to approximately 4:30 p.m., including training. 40 hours of work are available every 8 weeks.

Training takes place before scoring begins. There may be a brief orientation meeting before the day of scoring occurs.
