Qualifications

• BSc in Chemistry or related field required.
• 1–3 years hands-on wet chemistry experience.
• GC experience required.
• FTIR experience with raw materials.
• Familiar with GMP guidelines and documentation.
• Experience in pharma/CPG or medical devices preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform and oversee analytical testing to support GMP and non-GMP raw material qualification and release activities.
• Evaluate and implement compendial, vendor, and internal test methods.
• Develop and maintain raw material specifications.
• Investigate OOS, atypical, and non-conforming results.
• Author and review GMP documentation; coordinate outsourced testing with contract laboratories and suppliers.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with QA, Raw Material Qualification, and Pilot Plant teams to ensure timely material release while maintaining GMP compliance.
• Emphasize wet chemistry work with strong GC experience.

Pay: $35-38/hr

Shift: 1st - Monday-Friday 8-5

JOB DESCRIPTION

A large CPG client of ours is looking for an associate scientist of raw materials. They will be responsible for performing and overseeing analytical testing to support GMP and non-GMP raw material qualification and release activities. This role will help with new raw material qualifications, evaluates and implements compendial, vendor, and internal test methods, develops and maintains raw material specifications, and investigates OOS, atypical, and non-conforming results.

The individual will author and review GMP documentation, coordinate outsourced testing with contract laboratories and suppliers, provide expertise in wet chemistry testing, and collaborate cross-functionally with Quality Assurance, Raw Material Qualification, and Pilot Plant teams to ensure timely material release while maintaining compliance with GMP, data integrity, and regulatory requirements. They will be working heavily within wet chemistry and must have strong GC experience.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

• BSc in Chemistry or related studies
• 1-3 years of hands-on wet chemistry experience
• GC experience
• FTIR experience with raw materials
• Experience following GMP guidelines/regulations and documentation
• Pharma, med device, or CPG experience (or similar)
