Job summary

Johnson & Johnson in Malvern, PA seeks an Associate Scientist, Protein Therapeutics API Development in Biologics Therapeutics Development & Supply. You will perform process development and manufacturing for large molecule cell culture processes.

Requirements include a Bachelor's degree (Master's preferred), at least 1 year of relevant experience, aseptic technique, cell culture in various vessels, and experience with CIP/SIP and large bioreactors. Weekend work may be required.

Qualifications

• Master's degree is preferred.
• Minimum 1 year of relevant experience.
• Experience with aseptic technique and cell culture manipulations.
• Experience with large-scale bioreactors and single-use systems.
• Experience with Clean In Place (CIP) and Steam In Place (SIP).
• Experience with upstream processing of large molecules.
• Experience with ViCell BLU, Metaflex, and OmsoPro equipment.
• Experience documenting work in electronic lab notebooks.
• Periodic weekend work is required.

We are searching for the best talent for an Associate Scientist, Protein Therapeutics API Development - Biologics Therapeutics Development & Supply based in Malvern, PA.

Purpose

The Associate Scientist, Protein Therapeutics API Development - Biologics Therapeutics Development & Supply will perform process development and manufacturing for large molecule cell culture processes.

You will be responsible for

• Performing cell culture process operations covering vial thaw through bioreactor harvest.
• Record and analyze experimental data, verify data integrity and accuracy, and report/summarize findings to the project team.
• Works closely with project teams and collaborate with support functions to meet or exceed the goals and objectives of Protein Therapeutics API Development - Biologics Therapeutics Development & Supply
• Thrive in a diverse team setting by giving technical expertise to multiple large molecule programs, proficient with documentation, and review of analytical data.
• Maintain equipment logs and assist with the resolution of equipment downtime.
• Follow laboratory safety procedures.

Education

• Minimum of a Bachelor's degree is required
• Master's degree is preferred

Required

• Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience
• Experience with aseptic technique and cell culture manipulations involving a variety of cell culture vessels (i.e., shake flasks, and wave bioreactors).
• Experience with large scale bioreactors and single use bioreactors, including assembly, preparation, operation, and maintenance.
• Experience with Clean In Place and Steam in Place procedures.
• Experience with upstream processing of large molecules.
• Experience with the following analytical equipment: ViCell BLU, Metaflex, and OmsoPro.
• Experience maintaining written records of work in the form of electronic laboratory notebooks.
• Periodic weekend work is required.
