Job summary

Eurofins USA Genomic Services in Wisconsin is seeking a DNA Associate Scientist to support the GTS/MBGT work streams with a primary focus on DNA extraction, testing, and data analysis.

You will help create plate maps for DNA QA, perform extraction and testing, maintain safety and quality systems, and ensure accurate execution of written protocols while collaborating across labs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma and science aptitude.
• Experience using Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Assist with DNA QA plate maps creation and lab sample tracking.
• Assist in DNA QA extraction, testing, data analysis, and reporting.
• Become proficient in all areas of GTS planting/sample prep/evaluating/harvesting/extraction/testing.
• Support and maintain EBDI Safety 프로그램 and ISO quality system.

About the GTS Department

The GTS Department is dedicated to supporting ELISA/HB planting, harvesting, extraction, and testing; DNA QA grinding, plating, and testing; MBGT planting, plating and testing; Electrophoresis planting, plating, extraction and testing.

The GTS Department includes genetic purity testing using Isozyme Electrophoresis, trait purity testing using ELISA/Herbicide Bioassay testing, and adventitious presence and zygosity testing using in DNA QA using PCR.

DNA Associate Scientist Role

The DNA Associate Scientist is responsible for helping in all activities, as directed, for the GTS/MBGT work streams, with primary focus in DNA extraction, testing, and data analysis.

Responsibilities and Duties

General

• Communicate effectively internally and externally
• Work cooperatively
• Participate in general laboratory maintenance
• Effectively communicate sample/internal issues to Manager and/or Group Lead as appropriate
• Effectively communicate personnel issues to Manager and/ or Group Lead

Specific

• Assist with the creation of plate maps for DNA QA
• Assist in DNA QA extraction, testing, data analysis, and reporting
• Become proficient in all areas of GTS planting/sample prep/evaluating/harvesting/extraction/testing
• Help, support and maintain EBDI Safety program
• Help, support and maintain EBDI ISO quality system
• Ensure accurate and efficient execution of written protocols
• Technical training on equipment/processes in different labs as needed
• Other duties as needed

• High school and science aptitude
• Within a commutable distance of the worksite location.
• Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship

Skills

• Experience using Microsoft Office Suite

Other Factors

• Position requires sitting and standing for multiple hours, as well as lifting up to 50lbs.
