Job summary

Weston Solutions, Inc. is seeking an Environmental Scientist or Geoscientist to support EPA Region 6 projects in Tulsa, OK. The role focuses on field and office-based work to protect public health and the environment, including site assessments, emergency response, and remedial oversight.

You will lead and support environmental field projects, write technical reports, coordinate samples, and travel 3–5 days for responses with potential up to 2 weeks for planned work across EPA Region 6.

Qualifications

  • BS degree in Environmental Science, Geology, Engineering or related field.
  • 2–5 years of experience conducting environmental investigations.
  • Valid U.S. driver's license and eligibility to work in the United States.
  • Willingness to travel across EPA Region 6; emergency response rotations are possible.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct environmental sampling of soil, water, and hazardous waste.
  • Perform air monitoring (limited sampling; familiarity valued).
  • Coordinate laboratory sample shipments and evaluate analytic results.
  • Write technical reports, including site investigations and Phase II ESAs.
  • Prepare field documentation, daily logs, and support planning documents.
  • Participate in an on-call emergency response rotation.
  • Determine data collection methods and manage databases.
  • Travel throughout EPA Region 6 for field assignments (3–5 days, up to 2 weeks).
  • Calibrate and maintain multimedia monitoring and sampling equipment.
  • Use PPE (Levels D–A) to safely enter potentially hazardous areas.

Weston is seeking a passionate and drivenEnvironmental Scientist or Geoscientistto support our long-standing contract with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Region 6. This role is ideal for someone committed to protecting public health and the environment through meaningful field and office-based work. As a key member of our project team, you’ll lead and support environmental field projects, contributing to site assessments, emergency response, and remedial oversight. Your work will directly support cleaner, safer communities.

Expected Outcomes:

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Science, Geology, Engineering, or a related field
  • 2–5 years of experience conducting environmental investigations
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. (field equipment, PPE, etc.)
  • Valid U.S. driver’s license and eligibility to work in the United States
  • Willingness to travel throughout EPA Region 6 (Texas, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Arkansas, and Louisiana)
  • Willingness to participate in emergency response rotations (approximately one week per month)
  • Strong communication and documentation skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER certification (preferred)
  • ICS training or emergency response experience (a plus)
  • Oil and hazardous materials emergency response experience (a plus)
