Job summary

Providence St. Patrick Hospital in Missoula, MT is seeking an Associate Respiratory Therapist to support patient care under established policies. You will collaborate with physicians and nurses, operate ventilatory support systems, and perform patient assessments.

A solid orientation and department onboarding are required, with an on-going commitment to safety and quality of care. The role is Per-Diem with a pay range shown: $28.08–$43.59 hourly.

Qualifications

  • Montana Respiratory Care Practitioner License required on hire.
  • American Heart Association BLS required on hire.
  • CRT with <5 years experience must obtain RRT within 6 months; or 5+ years CRT with no RRT requirement.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with physicians and nurses to plan and implement patient care plans.
  • Perform job duties independently per department policies and procedures.
  • Operate and maintain complex ventilatory support systems and monitoring devices.
  • Conduct patient assessments and provide oxygen therapy as prescribed.

Description

The Associate Respiratory Therapist is expected to demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of contemporary Respiratory Therapy principles. The Associate Respiratory Therapist should be a solid performer who is fully competent in all aspects of his/her job description. He/she is expected to perform most job duties independently and in accordance with established departmental and hospital policies and procedures. He/She will collaborate with Physicians and Nurses in planning and implementing the patient plan of care. Completion of the department orientation program as well as unit-specific orientation, as required, is mandatory. This individual assists the Physician with the delivery and direction of Respiratory Therapy. She/He may be qualified by training and experience to operate and maintain complex ventilatory support systems, monitoring and resuscitation devices, respiratory care procedures and patient assessments, diagnostic procedures and oxygen therapy. Activities may also include other patient care functions for which he or she is qualified.

Required Qualifications:


  • Associate's Degree in AMA accredited school of Respiratory Therapy or

  • Bachelor's Degree in AMA accredited school of Respiratory Therapy.

  • Upon hire: Montana Respiratory Care Practitioner License.

  • Upon hire: National Provider BLS - American Heart Association.

  • CRT with less than 5 years' experience, must obtain RRT within 6 months of hire; Or

  • 5 years CRT and no RRT requirement.

The successful candidate's placement on the wage range for this position will be determined based upon relevant job experience and other applicable factors. These amounts are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
