Job summary

Providence St. Patrick Hospital in Missoula, MT seeks an Associate Respiratory Therapist to support patient care on multiple shifts. You will perform respiratory therapy procedures, monitor patients, and collaborate with physicians and nurses to implement care plans.

The role requires completion of required orientation, Montana license, and BLS. Per diem/part-time options are available with opportunities for advancement.

Qualifications

• Must have Montana Respiratory Care Practitioner License upon hire.
• Must have National Provider BLS - American Heart Association.
• CRT with less than 5 years' experience, must obtain RRT within 6 months of hire; Or 5 years CRT and no RRT requirement.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with physicians and nurses to plan and implement patient care plans.
• Assist in delivering and directing Respiratory Therapy and monitoring of patients.
• Operate and maintain ventilatory support systems and resuscitation devices as qualified.
• Perform patient assessments and diagnostic procedures related to respiratory care.
• Follow department and hospital policies and procedures and complete required orientation.

Description

The Associate Respiratory Therapist is expected to demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of contemporary Respiratory Therapy principles. The Associate Respiratory Therapist should be a solid performer who is fully competent in all aspects of his/her job description. He/she is expected to perform most job duties independently and in accordance with established departmental and hospital policies and procedures. He/She will collaborate with Physicians and Nurses in planning and implementing the patient plan of care. Completion of the department orientation program as well as unit-specific orientation, as required, is mandatory. This individual assists the Physician with the delivery and direction of Respiratory Therapy. She/He may be qualified by training and experience to operate and maintain complex ventilatory support systems, monitoring and resuscitation devices, respiratory care procedures and patient assessments, diagnostic procedures and oxygen therapy. Activities may also include other patient care functions for which he or she is qualified.

Required Qualifications:
