Description

The Associate Researcher I is a laboratory research position, responsible for independent conduct of routine and standardized experiments. This individual assists in the interpretation of research outcomes, data analysis, performs assays to support research studies, and assists in the clerical and supply aspects of the laboratory environment.

Responsibilities
  • Conducts routine and standardized experiments using appropriate research techniques specific to subject matter of the research project.
  • Analyzes and assists in interpreting laboratory results.
  • Performs assays to support research studies.
  • Maintains laboratory environment, including assisting with protocol development and refinement, compliance requirements, and inventory management.
  • Logs and tests samples; prepares and submits laboratory materials and specimens for shipment.
  • Receives and organizes shipped specimens.
  • Assists in new and unexpected research experiments and techniques.
  • Assists in the collection, analysis and review of experimental data for publication and presentation.
  • Performs data cleaning, organization, and quality control of research and clinical datasets.
  • Conducts basic statistical analyses using R, including descriptive statistics, data visualization, and exploratory data analysis.
  • Assists with extraction and processing of data from electronic health records (EHR) or clinical registries.
  • Performs other related duties.
Qualifications
  • Bachelors or Masters degree in science or related field required
  • No experience required. One year of research experience preferred.
Compensation

The Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS) provides salary ranges that comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $58661 - $80211.02 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and operational need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
