Job summary

The Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai seeks an Associate Researcher I for a laboratory role, conducting routine and standardized experiments and assisting in interpreting research outcomes within the AIHH collaboration with CBIPM and HPIMS.

Responsibilities include DNA/RNA extraction, PCR, gel electrophoresis, data analysis, and lab upkeep, with opportunities to contribute to publications and presentations. A science degree is required; some research experience is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in science or related field is required.
  • No experience required; one year of research experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Conducts routine and standardized experiments using appropriate research techniques.
  • Conduct DNA and RNA extraction, purification, quantification, and quality assessment using standard molecular biology techniques.
  • Perform molecular biology assays, including PCR and gel electrophoresis.
  • Analyzes and assists in interpreting moderately complex results.
  • Maintains laboratory environment and assists in inventory; may include ordering supplies.
  • Logs and tests samples; prepares materials for shipment.
  • Assists in new and unexpected research experiments and techniques.
  • Assists in collection, analysis and review of experimental data for publication and presentation.
