Job summary

Abbott in San Diego, CA, is seeking an Associate Research Scientist II to contribute to the Cancer Diagnostics Division. You will translate research ideas into diagnostic assay development and work with NGS assay development and liquid handling instrumentation.

The role involves planning, executing experiments, analyzing data, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to advance development of diagnostic assays.

Qualifications

• Experience with NGS assay development.
• Experience with liquid handling instrumentation.
• Ability to plan and execute bench-level experiments.
• Strong data analysis and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct bench level experiments within a product/technology area and identify problems.
• Plan and analyze results of bench level experiments with some guidance.
• Operate scientific instrumentation and report issues.
• Prepare data and information for abstracts/conferences/publications.
• Maintain lab notebook in compliance with ISO/QSR requirements.
• Present results and updates at project or departmental meetings.
• Collaborate effectively within team to meet objectives.
