Job summary

RC&S INC, an IR Pros company, seeks an Associate Refrigeration Engineer to support design, project planning, and field assistance for industrial refrigeration systems. You will work with experienced engineers to develop system designs and drawings, and help troubleshoot in the field.

This early-career role offers hands-on experience in industrial refrigeration engineering, with opportunities to learn AutoCAD, equipment selection, and field support across client facilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (Mechanical Engineering preferred).
• Experience or familiarity with AutoCAD.
• Strong technical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to read technical drawings and engineering plans.
• Ability to calculate figures, measurements, and project costs.
• Understanding of health and safety procedures in industrial environments.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Assist with design and preparation of plans and specifications for industrial refrigeration systems.
• Evaluate existing refrigeration equipment and installations and advise on maintain/modify/replace.
• Support field-erected systems design, including pipe sizing, layouts, equipment selection.
• Assist with configuring parallel compressor systems and components.
• Prepare system drawings, piping plans, and equipment schedules using AutoCAD and Excel.
• Conduct field inspections and assessments of refrigeration equipment and installations.
• Assist with inspections to ensure plans/specifications compliance.
• Visit project sites to survey facilities and gather engineering data.
• Assist with estimating cost of refrigeration system construction and installation.
