Job summary

Cleveland-Cliffs Steel has an immediate opening for an Associate Quality Engineer. You’ll support daily quality activities including technical review of customer specifications, order setup, product inspection and testing, verifying compliance to standards, and driving quality improvements.

Ideal candidates will have steel industry experience, an engineering degree, be self-motivated, and thrive in a fast-paced environment with complex operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Metallurgy or related field.
• Strong problem solving and data analysis skills.
• Interpersonal skills and ability to operate in a fast-paced, team environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safety, quality, and environmental standards are met.
• Provide metallurgical and technical support for product/process improvements.
• Analyze data to monitor quality and process variability.
• Coordinate with customers and processors for warranty solutions.
• Assist in order design, entry, and product trials.
• Work with operations and engineering to drive results.
• Communicate with upstream/downstream teams to coordinate work.
• Support daily quality activities and testing.
• Review customer specifications and ensure compliance.
• Identify opportunities for new technology to meet demands.
