Job summary

JLL is seeking an Associate Project Manager to support retail construction projects for a financial services client. You will assist with execution, coordinate stakeholders, track budgets and schedules, and maintain project docs.

Ideal candidates have 2–4 years in project management within real estate, excellent organizational and communication skills, and the ability to travel for site visits. On-site position in Richmond, VA and Washington, DC with a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required in a related field (Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management).
  • 2–4 years of project management or related experience in real estate.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with multitasking ability.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for team collaboration.
  • Knowledge of project management principles and best practices.
  • Familiarity with real estate industry standards and construction processes.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team.
  • Strong problem-solving and attention to detail.
  • Willingness to travel for meetings and site visits.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Project Manager with project development, budgets, schedules, and QC.
  • Coordinate with clients, consultants, contractors, and internal stakeholders.
  • Identify risks and help develop mitigation strategies.
  • Support contract review, negotiation, and administration with vendors.
  • Maintain project documentation including plans, minutes, and status reports.
  • Track financial performance and maintain budget records.
  • Coordinate meetings, prepare presentations, and handle admin tasks.
  • Assist with site visits and project-related meetings as needed.
  • Support overall project team operations to ensure timely delivery.

What this job involves

As an Associate Project Manager at JLL, you will support the successful delivery of retail construction projects for a financial services client. This role is responsible for assisting with project execution, stakeholder coordination, budget and schedule tracking, and maintaining project documentation. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate across teams will be essential to project success.

Your day-to-day tasks will include
  • Assist the Project Manager in overseeing project development and execution, including budget management, schedule adherence, and quality control
  • Coordinate with clients, consultants, contractors, and internal stakeholders to support effective project communication and collaboration
  • Identify potential project risks and assist in developing mitigation strategies
  • Support contract review, negotiation, and administration with vendors and suppliers
  • Maintain accurate project documentation, including project plans, meeting minutes, and status reports
  • Track project financial performance, monitor expenses, and maintain budget records
  • Coordinate meetings, prepare presentations, and support project-related administrative tasks
  • Assist with site visits and project-related meetings as needed
  • Support overall project team operations to help ensure timely and successful project delivery
Desired experience and technical skills
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or a related field
  • 2–4 years of experience in project management or related roles within the real estate industry
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong working relationships
  • Knowledge of project management principles and best practices
  • Familiarity with real estate industry standards and construction processes
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to travel for project-related meetings and site visits as needed
Preferred
  • Experience managing small- to medium-scale projects from initiation through completion
  • Experience supporting commercial real estate clients within the financial services industry
  • Knowledge of construction processes and building codes
  • Proficiency with project management processes, software, and tools
Compensation & Schedule
  • 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday
  • Time entry required
  • Overtime paid at 1.5x hourly rate for hours exceeding 40 per week with manager approval required

Estimated compensation for this position

75,000.00 – 88,000.00 USD per year

This range is an estimate and actual compensation may differ. Final compensation packages are determined by various considerations including but not limited to candidate qualifications, location, market conditions, and internal considerations.
