Job summary

ABB in the United States seeks a Senior Project Manager to lead project execution within the Electrification Smart Power Division. You will oversee all phases from planning to delivery, coordinate cross-functional teams, manage schedules, and ensure projects meet time, scope, and budget targets while communicating with customers and stakeholders.

The role requires a engineering-focused degree with PM experience, up to 20% travel, and US work authorization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering; 5+ years relevant experience with minimum 3 in Project Management.
• Associates Degree in Technology with equivalent PM experience acceptable.
• PMP certification is a plus.
• 20% travel expected; candidates must have work authorization for the US.

Responsibilities

• Lead the execution of small projects.
• Ensure activities comply with procedures, regulations, standards, specifications and targets.
• Define and apply basic project scheduling techniques to manage schedule risks.
• Be the point of contact for the customer during the project, managing update meetings, inquiries, deliveries, and escalations.
• Oversee all phases of project lifecycle from planning to execution, ensuring on-time, in-scope, and on-budget delivery.
• Manage project financials: budget tracking, cost control, forecasting to ensure profitability.
• Develop and maintain detailed project schedules with milestones.
• Lead cross-functional teams and resolve conflicts for high-performance outcomes.
• Implement risk management strategies to mitigate issues impacting quality, cost, or timeline.
• Drive successful execution of complex, large-scale projects with multiple stakeholders; ensure client satisfaction.
• Track progress, generate reports, and communicate updates to senior leadership.

This Position Reports To Senior Project Manager

Your Role And Responsibilities

• In this role, you will have the opportunity to lead the execution of small projects.
• Each day, you will ensure that all related activities are executed in accordance with procedures, regulations, standards, specifications and targets.
• You will also showcase your expertise by defining and applying basic project scheduling techniques to manage schedule risks proactively.
• You will be the point of contact for the customer during the project, managing update meetings, inquiries, deliveries, and escalations.

Work Model For The Role

• This role is contributing to Electrification Smart Power Division.
• You Will Be Mainly Accountable For Overseeing all phases of project lifecycle, from planning to execution, ensuring delivery on time, within scope, and on budget.
• Managing project financials, including budget tracking, cost control, and forecasting to ensure profitability and fiscal responsibility.
• Developing and maintaining detailed project schedules, identifying key milestones and ensuring adherence to timelines.
• Direct point of contact for customer.
• Leading cross-functional teams, fostering collaboration and resolving conflicts to ensure high-performance outcomes.
• Implementing risk management strategies to mitigate issues impacting project quality, cost, or timeline.
• Driving the successful execution of complex, large-scale projects with multiple stakeholders, ensuring client satisfaction.
• Tracking project progress, generating regular reports, and communicating key updates to senior leadership and stakeholders.

Qualifications For The Role

Bachelor’s degree preferably in Engineering with 5+ years relevant experience with a minimum of 3 in Project Management, or Associates Degree in Technology with equivalent years of experience in Project Management. Experience in project management within related field PMP certification is a plus. 20% travel expected. Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.
