Job summary

Spirit AeroSystems, a Boeing subsidiary, seeks a dynamic Project Manager to direct cross-functional programs in a fast-paced manufacturing environment in Kansas. You will lead major commercial programs and coordinate between program management, planning, and operations, delivering on schedule, budget, and quality.

The role requires 3+ years in regulated manufacturing, strong MS Office/PM tools, and the ability to present to executives.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in a highly-regulated manufacturing environment.
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.
  • PMP or PMI Certification preferred.
  • Familiarity with Smartsheet.
  • Ability to create and present to executive level management.
  • Schedule development by project scope.
  • Technical background to work with cross functional teams.
  • Ability to integrate large multi-year projects and small near-term projects.
  • Business acumen to coordinate with Finance on tracking to plan.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written with executive leaders.
  • Ability to manage with influence and provide leadership across multiple teams.
  • Cross-functional coordination and leadership to achieve project goals.
  • SAP, MES, and MES experience.
  • Root Cause Analysis (RCA).
  • Lean processing knowledge and industrial engineering concepts.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees and manages the operational aspects of ongoing projects and serves as liaison between program management and planning, project team, and Operations leadership
  • Reviews status of projects and budgets, manages schedules, and prepares status reports
  • Assesses production issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and customer goals and objectives
  • Develops mechanisms for monitoring project progress and for intervention and problem solving with project managers, line managers, customer and other stakeholders
  • Assist in training/ mentoring/ developing Team members as well as suggest new strategies or concepts.
  • Proven ability to balance multiple projects simultaneously (coordination,status, and performance to plan)
  • Cross-functional coordination and leadership to achieve project goals
  • Risk assessment and mitigation
  • Demonstrated ability to foster business partnerships with internal customers and functional organizations
  • Business Acumen, Managing with Influence, Interpersonal relationships and communication.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience)
  • 3+ years of related experience in a highly-regulated, relevant manufacturing environment
  • Strong computer skills with Microsoft Project, Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience)
  • Bachelor’s Degree OR equivalent experience
  • PMP or other PMI Certification
  • Individual project management and tracking as part of a larger portfolio.
  • Familiarity with Smartsheet
  • Ability to create and present in depth presentations to executive level management.
  • Schedule development by project appropriate to project scope.
  • Technical background to be able to work with cross functional teams.
  • Ability to integrate large multi-year projects and small near-term projects.
  • Business acumen to quantify implications of projects and the ability to coordinate with Finance on tracking to plan.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written with executive leaders.
  • Ability to manage with influence and provide leadership throughout multiple teams simultaneously.

Summary Pay Range: $60,200 - $92,300

Join Spirit AeroSystems’ Kansas team and you may be eligible for a $5,000 state of Kansas Aviation tax credit for up to five years.
