This position is particularly well suited for an individual who is ready to move beyond an outstanding personal clinical practice and assume a broader role in building programs, developing people, and defining the future of Adult Reconstruction.
The Chief of Adult Reconstruction will work closely with the Chair of Orthopedic Surgery & Rehabilitation and departmental and institutional leadership to establish and execute a strategic vision for the division. Key priorities will include:

As an academic medical center, UTMB is committed to creating an environment in which clinical excellence and innovation are mutually reinforcing. The highest levels of professionalism are expected from team members. The Chief will be expected to develop and articulate a compelling academic vision for Adult Reconstruction. This may include expanding externally funded research, building prospective clinical databases and registries, and creating opportunities for faculty and trainees to participate in meaningful scholarly work. We are particularly interested in candidates who can identify emerging opportunities in Adult Reconstruction and translate them into programmatic initiatives that improve patient outcomes and advance the field.
This is an opportunity to join UTMB at an exciting point in its evolution and to help define what Adult Reconstruction will look like for the next decade and beyond. We are looking for more than a highly accomplished arthroplasty surgeon. We are looking for an individual who sees the opportunity to build something exceptional - a program recognized for outstanding patient care, innovative research, transformative education, and the development of future leaders in orthopedics. The successful candidate will have the institutional partnership, and resources to translate that vision into reality.
