Responsibilities

• Clinical: Service commensurate with your skills in cardiac surgery at a clinical commitment of 90% effort. You are expected to participate in the adult cardiac surgery service call. You are expected to be clinical 4 days/week. Your practice will substantially focus on coronary artery bypass grafting surgery as well as the full spectrum of adult cardiac surgery. One additional day will be devoted to multidisciplinary structural heart disease clinic as well as your surgical outpatient visits.
• General Academic and Teaching: Devote 10%, half day per week, of your time to the formal and informal instruction of medical students, residents, and fellows. Participate in operative resident teaching and education, attend division conferences, participate in national organizations, continue to produce scholarly output, participate fully in the Surgery Mortality and Morbidity Conference, the Surgery Staff Conferences, and the Department of Surgery and Division Faculty meetings. Demonstrate teaching in the operating room to benefit Hopkins cardiac surgery fellows.
• Research: Support clinical research activities through a large Clinical Research Unit and coordinator support for investigator-initiated research. As a consortium member of the Cardiothoracic Surgical Trials Network, opportunities include being the local PI on trials and participating in developing new trials and quarterly all-investigator meetings.
• Citizenship: Sign and uphold the Division of Cardiac Surgery code of conduct for faculty and fulfill obligations as indicated by Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine Gold Book and Clinical Practice Association (CPA).

Salary Range

The referenced salary range represents the minimum and maximum salaries for this position and is based on Johns Hopkins University's good faith belief at the time of posting. Not all candidates will be eligible for the upper end of the salary range. The actual compensation offered to the selected candidate may vary and will ultimately depend on multiple factors, including geographic location, skills, work experience, internal equity, market conditions, education/training and other factors, as reasonably determined by the University.
