The University of Texas Medical Branch is seeking a physician for the Department of Family Medicine in Galveston, Texas. The Department of Family Medicine, founded as an independent department in 1971, provides care through its three clinics on the UTMB Galveston campus, the western end of Galveston Island, and in Dickinson, Texas. It also serves patients at the new Jennie Sealy Hospital and other regional facilities. Faculty oversee medical student education, residency, faculty development, and research.
This position will be 90% clinical and 10% education. The physician will provide direct patient care and supervise Family Medicine residents. Responsibilities include attending on‑call shifts (evening and weekend), precepting medical students, covering additional clinical services as needed, and delivering comprehensive health care within a patient‑centered medical home model. Clinical work will be performed primarily at the Island West Clinic (IW) with rotations through Island West (IE) or Dickinson clinics as department needs arise.
