Description: The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for an Associate Professor position in the non‑tenure clinician educator track. Expertise is required in the specific area of surgical pathology with an established focus in Thoracic Pathology. Applicants must have an M.D. degree. Certifications: American Board of Pathology, AP-only or AP/CP.
Teaching responsibilities: Medical students, residents, and fellows.
Clinical responsibilities: Participation in the Surgical Pathology service with coverage of Thoracic Pathology services in Penn Medicine including the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, Penn Presbyterian Hospital and Pennsylvania Hospital and its affiliates, general frozen section service, autopsy service and night/weekend call. Coverage of additional pathology subspecialties in addition to thoracic will also be considered. The main practice site will be Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.
Research or scholarship responsibilities: Development of an independent or highly collaborative research program (as PI, Co‑PI or Co‑I) in the area of anatomic pathology, particularly thoracic pathology.
