Qualifications

  • Typically requires a bachelor degree or equivalent experience in addition to 3+ year of operations experience.
  • Demonstrates operations and technical skills and understanding of Flex functional standards.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions.

  • Evaluate plant operating performance and advise on changes to improve efficiency.
  • Lead a team of professionals to meet quality, cost, delivery, and responsiveness requirements.
  • Troubleshoot operational problems and coach operators to improve performance.
  • Solicit and evaluate ideas for plant improvements and collaborate with engineers on proposals.
  • Provide technical and operational advice to project teams.
  • May act as principal interface between the operation team and maintenance.
  • Engage in training and coaching of junior operators.
  • Prioritize production schedules to meet customer requirements.
  • Initiate and participate in process development and cost improvement projects.
  • Assist in department budget planning and management of department expenses.
  • Maintain safe and compliant manufacturing environment.

Job Summary

Work Shift: 8 am - 2 pm, at times may need to work until 4:30 pm

Principle Accountabilities
  • Leads the production of several processes/lines in a highly technical environment and responsible for the lines success.
  • Evaluates daily/regularly plant operating performance and advises on changes in operating conditions that will improve efficiencies and quality.
  • Lead a team of individual professionals (e.g. engineers/officers) to meet quality, cost, delivery and responsiveness requirements.
  • Troubleshoot and analyze operational problems and advise on their resolution. Guide regular discussions with operators to coach performance and improve operational understanding and capability.
  • Solicits and evaluates ideas for plant improvements and collaborates with qualified engineers to develop project proposals.
  • Provides technical and operational advice to project teams.
  • May act as principal interface between the operation team and the maintenance function.
  • Engage in training and coaching of junior operators.
  • Prioritizes production schedules based on product introduction, equipment efficiency, and materials supply in order to meet customer requirements.
  • Initiate and participate in process development and cost improvement projects.
  • Assist in department budget planning and management of department expenses.
  • Maintains safe and clean work environment by educating and directing individuals on the use of all control points, equipment, and resources; maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures.
  • Ensures compliance to manufacturing standards.
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities

Typically requires a bachelor degree or equivalent experience in addition to 3 + year of operations experience.

Demonstrates operations and technical skills and understanding of Flex functional standards. Demonstrates a general knowledge of functional concepts and a rudimentary understanding of Flex policies and procedures. Has awareness of the functional impact upon work processes and other functions. Ability to operate telephones, data entry, office software including, word processing, spreadsheets, presentation packages and data base systems.

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations . Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals . Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients and customers.

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

Ability to define and solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to collect data, establish facts, interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form, and draw valid conclusions.

Scope / Impact

Impacts immediate (daily or weekly) operations of the team or functional area. Enhances and provides input to functional processes. Executes functional objectives at the site.

Decision Making / Discretion

Facilitates team in making group decisions. Approves and/or Makes decisions for sections/sub-functions. Decisions may affect sections/sub-functions

Supervision / Leadership

Closely supervised; normally receives detailed instructions on all work. Identifies own development needs and works toward them. Supports Flex values.

Work Environment :

The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, work that requires repetitive motion, toxic or caustic chemicals, and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
