Job summary

Google is seeking a senior attorney in its Cloud Networking and Infrastructure Legal team to advise on AI infrastructure, networking products, and global regulatory compliance for major product launches.

This role requires bar admission, 3+ years of attorney-level experience, and strong experience advising on product compliance issues across jurisdictions. Equity and bonus target accompany US-based compensation.

Qualifications

• JD, LL.B., equivalent degree, or equivalent practical experience.
• Admitted to the bar and in good standing or authorized to practice law in the posting state.
• 3 years of attorney-level experience in government, in-house, or at a law firm.
• Experience advising on product compliance issues.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic guidance to clients as they develop novel products and features with compliance considerations.
• Help solve policy, AI, privacy, IP, licensing and security issues.
• Advise on global legal and regulatory compliance during international expansion or product launch.
• Support commercial legal and sales teams on high-value negotiations.

Minimum qualifications

• JD, LL.B., equivalent degree, or equivalent practical experience.
• Admitted to the bar and in good standing or otherwise authorized to practice law (e.g., have registered in-house status) in the state in which the position is located.
• 3 years of attorney-level experience in government, in-house, or at a law firm.
• Experience advising on product compliance issues.

Preferred qualifications

• Experience supporting new and emerging global regulations (e.g., NIS2, DORA, CRA, CAIDA), and developing knowledge on first of a kind issues.
• Experience leading projects with clients and colleagues and directly advising the highest levels of executive leadership.
• Experience in utilizing AI tools to streamline and scale legal support.
• Experience advising enterprise providers of cloud services, networking services, or computing infrastructure/hardware.
• Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent investigative, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to explain legal issues clearly and concisely to non-legal stakeholders.

About The Job

The Cloud Networking and Infrastructure Legal team supports Google Cloud’s AI infrastructure and networking product portfolios, international expansion efforts, and helps counsel teams on global regulatory compliance across Cloud products. This role includes several of the following areas: AI hardware and infrastructure, networking services, international expansion, and regulatory compliance, all with an enterprise focus.

Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

US: $217000 - $314000 (USD) + 20% bonus target + equity + benefits
