Trust & Safety team members are tasked with identifying and taking on the biggest problems that challenge the safety and integrity of our products. They use technical know-how, excellent problem-solving skills, user insights, and proactive communication to protect users and our partners from abuse across Google products like Search, Maps, Gmail, and Google Ads. The Trust and Safety Launch Governance and Ops (LGO) team ensures Google products are developed safely and responsibly by managing responsibility risks and governance processes. LGO's Governance team establishes the system of standards, processes, and guardrails Trust and Safety utilizes to ensure our AI is developed and deployed ethically, safely, and legally. 'Governance' is the operational framework that makes ‘responsible AI’ happen. It bridges the gap between Google’s principles and day-to-day technical execution.

Minimum qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 7 years of experience in data analytics, Trust and Safety, policy, cybersecurity, or a related fields.
Preferred qualifications:
  • Master's or PhD in relevant field.
  • Experience with, machine learning.
  • Knowledge of ethics and socio-technical considerations of technology and the future of AI.
  • Knowledge about the key policy issues affecting the internet (e.g., intellectual property, free expression, online safety, ethics and socio-technical considerations of technology and the future of AI).
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills (written and verbal) and the ability to influence cross-functionally at various levels.
Responsibilities
  • Oversee development of framework to conduct risk reviews and define artifacts required to attest to mitigations. Escalate risk acceptance discussions to executive leadership and product area stakeholders.
  • Define opportunities throughout the product development, launch, and post-launch process to integrate RAI education, consultation, and review for all GenAI products and models.
  • Maintain and evolve internal and enterprise RAI risk frameworks, taxonomy, and opportunity frameworks to help Google adhere to AI Principles.
  • Develop relationships with key cross functional partners to help develop and launch new products and policies.
  • Offer subject matter expertise and high quality judgment on RAI policy and product issues with the ability to advise cross-functional (XFN) partners. Work with sensitive content or situations and may be exposed to graphic, controversial or upset topics or content.
