EquityZen, a part of Morgan Stanley, seeks an Associate, Platforms to advance its Wealth Management platform products. You will work with senior leadership and design/engineering teams to deliver user-centric features and rigorous documentation.

Responsibilities include drafting specs, wireframes, UAT, API docs, and data-driven insights to guide product decisions. A startup mindset with strong communication is ideal.

Qualifications

  • 1–3 years of product management or related experience in a tech startup or similar environment.
  • Undergraduate degree, preferably in Technology, Finance, or Economics.
  • Interest in Fintech/Wealthtech or regulated industries; experience with product lifecycle.
  • Experience drafting specs, supporting execution, and launching products.
  • Familiarity with user-centered design, wireframes, and collaboration with UI/UX.
  • Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills; SQL a plus; effective communicator.

Wealth Management (WM) Platforms manages industry-leading platforms, across all WM channels and client segments, to provide a unified digital experience, unlock growth, and deliver efficiencies for Advisors, Clients, and Institutions. WM Platforms consists of ten sub-teams including: Field Experience & Platforms, Digital Client Experience & Platforms, Workplace Platforms, Automation & Workflow, Digital Trading & Investing, Generative AI, UX Design & Research, Strategy & Execution, WM Platforms Risk, and the Chief Operating Office.

Having completed more than 51,000 private placements in nearly 500 private companies, EquityZen is on a mission to deliver “Private Markets for the Public.” EquityZen is looking for a detail-oriented and analytical Associate, Platforms to join our growing team.

What you’ll do in the role:
  • Support complex and time-sensitive initiatives that help push the EquityZen platform forward.
  • Work closely with senior product leadership to aid in the execution of the company roadmap.
  • Collaborate with design and engineering teams to build accessible, user-centric products with a strong focus on user experience.
  • Draft detailed specs and business-facing documentation, create wireframes, conduct User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and assist in A/B testing and product roll-outs.
  • Provide support for platform incidents and training for impending releases.
  • Develop meticulous technical and external-facing documentation, including API specifications and integration guides, to support seamless internal development.
  • Analyze qualitative and quantitative data on customer usage patterns to uncover product insights and support data-driven decision making.
  • Participate in agile ceremonies and partner with Engineering to ensure the timely delivery of product releases.
  • Gather and organize feedback from Sales, Operations, Compliance, and other internal teams to help inform current and future product stories and enhancements.
Skills Required:
  • 1–3 years of experience in product management, or a related role (e.g., business analyst, operations, engineering) at a technology startup.
  • Undergraduate degree, preferably with a concentration in Technology, Finance, or Economics.
  • An interest in Fintech, Wealthtech, private markets, or highly regulated industries (previous industry experience is a plus).
  • Experience assisting with the product lifecycle—from ideation and drafting specs to supporting project execution and product launches.
  • Familiarity with user-centered design principles, basic wireframing skills, and an eagerness to partner effectively with UI/UX designers and engineers.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to use quantitative data and qualitative insights to iterate on ideas.
  • Familiarity with data analytics platforms (e.g., Mixpanel, Google Analytics) and a willingness to learn A/B testing methodologies; basic SQL is a plus.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills to effectively share updates, draft documentation, and gather feedback across the organization.
  • Entrepreneurial drive and a bias for action; eager to navigate the uncertainty of new products and learn how to prioritize initiatives effectively.
  • A demonstrated passion to learn, grow your product skillset, and contribute to a collaborative team environment.

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $58,000 and $115,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
