Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and/or 1–2 years in IT, software, cloud, or security.
• Proficient in scripting (Python, PowerShell, Bash) and hands-on with AI coding assistants.
• Familiar with at least one cloud platform (AWS/Azure) and basic IaC concepts.
• Experience with IaC tools (Terraform/Ansible) and Git version control.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; self-driven.
• CompTIA Security+ or equivalent preferred or to be completed within first year.

The Associate Platform Engineer builds and maintains automation that supports Epiq's cloud, network, and security operations. Working alongside senior engineers, they turn manual tasks into repeatable workflows and prototype solutions using AI coding assistants. The role suits an early-career engineer who is comfortable writing code and solving problems across cloud and infrastructure environments.

Job Responsibilities

• Writes and maintains automation scripts for cloud, network, and security tasks.
• Uses AI coding assistants to prototype, build, test, and debug solutions.

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, cybersecurity, information technology, or a related field, and/or 1 to 2 years of experience in IT, software, cloud, or security.
• Working knowledge of scripting in Python, PowerShell, or Bash.
• Hands-on experience using AI coding assistants (such as GitHub Copilot, Claude, Cursor, or ChatGPT) to write and troubleshoot working code.
• Basic understanding of at least one of the following: cloud platforms (AWS or Azure), networking, or security concepts.
• Exposure to infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform or Ansible, and to Git version control, preferred.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Must be a self-managed and self-driven individual.
• CompTIA Security+ or a comparable cloud or security certification preferred, or completed within the first year of employment.

The Compensation range for this role is $60,000 up to $75,000 annually and may be eligible for an annual bonus. This will be based on your background and skills alignment with the role.
