Job summary

CoStar Group in Mobile, AL is looking for an Associate Photographer to capture high-quality 3‑D virtual tours, floor plans, and photography for Homes.com and Apartments.com. You will coordinate with schedulers and clients, ensure safety compliance, and travel to properties as needed.

The role requires real‑estate photography experience, a valid driver’s license, and strong time-management, communication, and data entry skills. A FAA Part 107 license is preferred.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of professional experience.
• Track record of commitment to prior employers.
• Real-Estate photography experience required.
• Professional photography experience or recently earned degree in photography.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Strong customer service experience with a client-first mindset.
• Experienced drone photographer with FAA Part 107 license or certification obtained within 30 days of offer.
• Strong time-management skills and detail orientation.
• Capability to accurately capture and enter data.
• Excellent communication (oral and written) and organizational skills.
• Knowledge of Windows, Microsoft Office, Internet applications, and Apple iOS products.
• Enjoys working independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Field experience preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and satisfactory completion of a driving record check prior to start.

• Create a portfolio of photographs to best feature homes and apartments, using photography techniques to capture the spaces in an appealing way.
• Work closely with scheduling and dispatch teams to maximize appointments and meet client demands.
• Communicate professionally with clients, sales, research partners, and management to evaluate priorities, initiatives, and tasks.
• While not on a residential assignment, navigate one‑mile square grids to ensure comprehensive commercial real‑estate data coverage, identify new inventory, missing availability, and properties to be photographed.
• Abide by CoStar safety standards to safeguard company vehicle and equipment.
• Represent CoStar professionally at all times.
• Participate in conference calls with sales and research teams as needed.

The Role

Associate Photographers are the talented and versatile team responsible for media collection for Homes.com and Apartments.com. Equipped with top‑of‑the‑line Pro 3 Matterport, digital camera equipment, and an iPad, they create virtual tours, floorplans and photography for residential homes. Each photographer has a core territory and services clients of Homes.com and Apartments.com.

Photographers receive appointment schedules, scan homes and apartments with Matterport Pro 3 cameras, and capture virtual tours, floor plans, and residential photography for marketing purposes. This role works closely with clients, sales associates, logistics, and management. Photographers are managed remotely by a Photography Manager located in local markets.

Physical Requirements

• Repetitive and frequent sitting in a car, standing and walking for up to 8 hours per day.
• Must lift, carry, and maneuver equipment weighing up to 5 pounds.
• Repetitive hand and arm movements for typing on a tablet/laptop and operating camera equipment.
• Occasional bending, stooping, squatting, lifting, twisting, and carrying necessary to perform job functions.
• Ability to work and drive outside during all seasons.
• Availability to work weekends on a rotating schedule.

Compensation

• Base compensation: $49,000 – $50,000 (annual). Salary or hourly rate depends on location, skills, and competencies.
