Cabrera Capital’s Public Finance team in Chicago is seeking an Associate to support new business development and transaction execution on a day‑to‑day basis. You will lead development of client presentations, perform advanced financial forecasting, cash flow analyses, and bond sizing in Excel, and coordinate with coverage teams through closing.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in Finance or similar and 2+ years of Public Finance experience, with FINRA SIE and Series 52/63 licensure within 90 days;

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Finance or similar.
2+ years of experience as a Public Finance Analyst (or similar role).
FINRA SIE, Series 52, and Series 63 licensures (or within 90 days of hire).

Responsibilities

Take a lead role in developing client presentations and responses to Requests for Proposals.
High proficiency with advanced quantitative analyses including financial forecasting, cash flow analysis, and bond sizing using Excel and third‑party debt structuring applications.
Work with the coverage team to execute new issue transactions from documentation to closing.
Attend client meetings and present information clearly to build client relationships.
Generate and maintain debt profiles and conduct market-wide and client-specific analyses.

position summary & purpose

The Associate will support our Public Finance Investment Banking team in all aspects of new business development and transaction execution. The Associate will play a central day‑to‑day role in deal execution, cash flow modeling, new business idea generation, client material creation and presentation in client meetings and providing training and day‑to‑day workflow oversight for Analysts on the team.

Essential duties and responsibilities

Take a lead role in developing client presentations and responses to Requests for Proposals
High proficiency with advanced quantitative analyses including financial forecasting, cash flow analysis, and bond sizing using Excel and third‑party debt structuring applications
Work closely with coverage team to take day‑to‑day leadership in the execution of new issue transactions including documentation, pricing, presentations to investors and rating agencies, and deal closing coordination
Attend client meetings with the banking team and present information in a clear and professional manner with a focus on building client relationships
Generate and maintain debt profiles to provide bankers with an overview of a client’s debt position and historical financing
Able to work with data from various sources to develop relevant market‑wide and client‑specific analyses
Monitor market conditions to apply new financing and optimization strategies based on clients’ financing needs
Research projects related to regulatory, legal, policy or client‑specific issues
All other duties as assigned

EDUCATION & work experience
