Job summary

The Women’s Hospital of Texas in Houston, part of HCA Healthcare Pathology Services, seeks an Associate Pathologist to join a team of pathologists onsite. Expect handling gyn, breast, and placental specimens with a total annual volume around 11,000 surgicals, plus intraoperative frozen sections supported by a PA and histology staff.

Texas licensure or eligibility is required, with opportunities for new graduates.

Qualifications

• AP/CP Board Certification required.
• Texas license or ability to obtain.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and experience managing a large group.
• Available to new graduates.

Responsibilities

• Weekdays: three pathologists cover the hospital onsite with ~11,000 surgicals.
• Weekday call: 6pm–7am; one in four pathologists on call weekly.
• Weekend calls across four hospitals with long weekend rotations.
• Offsite frozen sections at HCA Pearland; calendar coordinated by hospital staff.
• Frozen sections: 10–15 intraoperative calls per month, with PA and histology support.
