Job summary

First Presbyterian Church Greer in Greer, SC seeks an Associate Pastor to join in ministry focused on children, youth, families, mission, and community engagement. Working with our Senior Pastor, staff, and lay leaders, the Associate Pastor will lead Children’s & Youth Ministries and Missions & Outreach, preach, lead worship, and participate in the broader pastoral life of the congregation.

Associate Pastor

First Presbyterian Church Greer is seeking an Associate Pastor to join us in ministry in one of the fastest-growing communities in Upstate SC. We are a welcoming, active congregation seeking a relational and collaborative pastor with a particular heart for children, youth, families, mission, and community engagement.

The Opportunity

The Associate Pastor will provide primary pastoral leadership for Children’s & Youth Ministries and Missions & Outreach, while participating fully in the broader pastoral life of the congregation.

Working collaboratively with our Senior Pastor, staff, and lay leaders, the Associate Pastor will also have opportunities to:

• Preach and lead worship and the sacraments;
• Strengthen faith formation and intergenerational ministry;
• Equip and encourage volunteers and lay leaders;
• Help children and youth develop meaningful relationships within the church;
• Engage the congregation in local and broader mission; and
• Help FPC Greer respond creatively to the opportunities of a growing community.

We are seeking a pastor ordained in the PCUSA who is grounded in faith, relational and approachable, collaborative, compassionate, and eager to build relationships across generations. We hope to call someone who enjoys working with children and teenagers, values mission and service, communicates effectively, and brings both initiative and creativity to ministry.
