Job summary

Milford Baptist Church Marietta GA is seeking an Associate Pastor/Connections Pastor for a full-time role in our pastoral team. You will lead evangelism outreach, guest assimilation, and spiritual growth pathways, while coordinating recreation ministry and community engagement.

You will work closely with the Senior Pastor and staff to foster relationships, disciple leaders, and connect people to Christ, the church, and active service within ourMarietta community.

Qualifications

• Must be a committed follower of Jesus Christ with pastoral leadership qualifications.
• Experience in evangelism, discipleship, connections, or pastoral ministry.
• Highly relational and able to mobilize volunteers.
• Organized with the ability to plan and manage ministry initiatives.
• Comfortable with technology and communication tools.
• Passionate about using recreation and relationships for Gospel influence.

Responsibilities

Full-Time Pastoral Staff Position

Milford Baptist Church is seeking an Associate Pastor/Connections Pastor to help lead our church in fulfilling our mission:

We are looking for a relational, ministry-minded pastor who will work closely with the Senior Pastor and pastoral team to help people connect with Christ, connect with the church, grow spiritually, and engage in ministry.

KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

ASSOCIATE PASTOR/CONNECTIONS

Full-Time Pastoral Staff Position

Evangelism & Community Engagement

• Develop and equip members for personal evangelism and Gospel conversations.
• Lead church-wide outreach and guest follow-up.
• Build relationships with schools, organizations, families, and the surrounding community.
• Develop creative opportunities to use our renovated gym as a bridge to the community.

Connections & Assimilation

• Oversee the guest experience from first visit to meaningful involvement.
• Lead and develop Greeter, Welcome, and Hospitality Teams.
• Strengthen guest follow-up, connection events, and pathways into church life.
• Help create a culture where people are genuinely known and connected.

Discipleship & Spiritual Growth

• Oversee and strengthen Life Groups, Sunday School, and other discipleship opportunities.
• Recruit, train, and support teachers and group leaders.
• Help develop clear pathways for spiritual growth—from new believers to mature followers of Christ.
• Help develop leaders and strengthen men’s, women’s, and other ministry opportunities.

Gym & Recreation Ministry

• Sports leagues and open gym opportunities
• Family and fellowship events
• Student and children's activities
• Sports camps and community outreach
• Other recreational opportunities that create natural bridges for Gospel relationships

Pastoral Ministry

• Provide pastoral care and counseling as needed.
• Participate in preaching and teaching.
• Work collaboratively with the pastoral and ministry staff.
• Help advance the overall mission and vision of Milford Baptist Church.

• Has experience in evangelism, discipleship, connections, or pastoral ministry.

• Is comfortable with technology and communication tools.
• Has a passion for using recreation and relationships as opportunities for Gospel influence.

Experience in recreational ministry is a strong plus, but not required.
