Associate PastorOutreachandAssimilation

Reports to: Lead Pastor
Position Summary:
This role exists to support and extend the ministry vision of the Lead Pastor through servant leadership, a Christ-centered life, and a commitment to pastoral excellence. The Associate Pastor will work closely with the Lead Pastor and church staff to develop, implement, and oversee the strategies, systems, and processes that advance Life Church’s discipleship strategy. This role will also provide administrative support, help lead and strengthen outreach efforts, and preach faithfully as needed.
Qualifications:
- Be a lover of Christ and committed to the inspiration and authority of the Word of God
- Be in theological agreement and shared convictions with the Life Churchmission, beliefs and values
- Possess personal integrity
- Must be humble and teachable
- Demonstratea strongwork ethic and excellence in previous ministry environments
- Skilled at mobilizingpeople within a congregationand executing strategy
- Gifted communicator
- An understanding of Ancient-Future worship, rooted in historic Word and Sacramental practices while thoughtfully contextualizing them for our current culturalcontext.
- An educational background in Christian ministries, Biblical Studies or related field, preferablybe seminary trainedand ordained
- A minimum of five years of ministry experience in a church of 500 or more attendees
Responsibilities:
- Work with the Lead Pastor and staff to develop and oversee the methods and processes of the Life Church Discipleship Strategy
- Teach and model the Life Church Discipleship Strategy toLife Churchgroups, classes, ministry leaders and all believers according to spiritual maturity
- Coordinate with theLeadPastor and staff to creatively develop the Life Church community outreach programs and beliefs
- Overseethe Volunteer Director ofLife ChurchConnection and HospitalityMinistries to ensure a Christ-like welcome and follow-up to guests
- Oversee an assimilation process that will lead gueststoconnectwithLife Churchby belonging to a small group and/or serving in a ministry withinLife Churchor a Life Church Mission Partner
- Oversee theteam thattrainssmall group leaders and developmentof small groups
- Identify personswithin Life Church that have leadership potential andapassion for outreach, assimilation or small groupsandthen develop those persons for leadership within these ministries
- Oversee the tracking and reporting ofChurch-wide outreach events, assimilation and small groupsin the planning center
- Preachon a rotation of 6-12 times a year
- Build and overseetheAlphaTeam, creating a welcoming space where people can explore the Christian faith, ask questions, and engage in meaningful conversations aboutJesus.
- Teach when and where needed as approved or directed bytheLead Pastor
- Conduct visitation and perform various types of pastoral care/duties as approved or directed bytheLeadPastor
- Collaborate with the Lead Pastor, Creative Director, and Production Teams to develop engaging online content that extends the church’s ministry and mission beyond Sundaygatherings.
- Develop and exercise personal evangelism within and outside Life Church
- Assist theLeadLife Church Pastor in managing the church’s budget
- Lead staff meetings and coordinate staff efforts in the Lead Pastor’s absence, under the direction and within the vision established by the Lead Pastor
- Maintain a continued growth of personal calling and walk with the Lord through Bible study and prayer
