Job summary

Pennoni in the Clearwater/Tampa area is seeking an Associate Civil Engineer to join our team on a full-time direct basis. This role offers exposure to a variety of public and private site development projects, from planning through permitting documentation.

You will contribute to conceptual planning, preliminary design, detailed development, construction documentation, and reports while mentoring junior staff in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering required.
• 3+ years of professional experience in land and/or site design.
• FE/EIT credentials preferred.
• Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D and site development design.

Responsibilities

• Prepare site plan development drawings compliant with municipal regulations.
• Design and detail site layout, grading, utilities.
• Perform stormwater management (H&H) modeling and related calculations.
• Prepare permit applications and reports.

Job description

Pennoni is hiring! In particular, we are looking for anAssociate Civil Engineerto join our team on a full-time, direct basis in theClearwater or Tampa area. This person will have the opportunity to work on a variety of public & private site development projects while contributing to all aspects of our projects: conceptual planning, preliminary design, detailed development, construction documentation, permitting documentation, and engineering reports).

Primary Responsibilities:

• Prepare site plan development drawings; this involves taking land survey data to develop a site plan package that is compliant with municipal regulations.
• Design and detail of site layout, removals, grading, utilities, etc.
• Design and detail for stormwater management [SWM]: hydrologic & hydraulic [H&H] modeling, erosion control, sediment control [E&SC], relevant design calculations, etc.
• Preparation of permits applications and reports
• Assist with mentoring junior-level staff.
• Work in a collaborative multi-disciplinary team environment under the supervision of a senior Professional Engineer.

Basic Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (or a related discipline).
• 3+ years of professional experience working in Engineering, preferably with Land and/or Site Design projects.

Preferred Qualifications:

• FE / EIT.
• Experience working with stormwater management, especially while utilizing Hydrology and Hydraulics (H&H) modeling tools; experience using HydroCAD is a plus!
• Minimum 3-5 years of experience in land development design using AutoCad Civil 3D and involving grading, stormwater, sanitary sewer, and water line design
• Proven ability to prepare a site plan package for submission to local jurisdiction(s) is a plus!
• Proficiency on basic office software applications, especially Microsoft Office 365.
• Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment with minimal supervision while displaying a positive attitude.
• Excellent organizational skills, especially with a proven ability to work in an energetic and challenging work environment on a variety of projects; this person will be expected to demonstrate a self-motivated demeanor while effectively multi-tasking and prioritizing multiple assignments.
