Job summary

Guitar Center Kansas City is seeking a Warehouse/Housekeeping Associate to keep the facility clean and orderly, including floors, equipment, and common areas.

You will perform general housekeeping, operate floor scrubber, assist with inventory, and support safety and loss prevention policies. Flexibility with shifts is expected.

No prior experience required; a High School diploma or GED is preferred; benefits include health insurance, 401(k), discounts, and training opportunities.

  • Entry level; zero years of relevant work experience.
  • Ability to collaborate and build relationships while working toward solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Performs general housekeeping as directed.
  • Cleans building floors by sweeping, mopping, and/or scrubbing.
  • Supports and follows all Loss Prevention and Safety policies, procedures, programs, and initiatives.
  • Performs monthly, quarterly, and annual preventive maintenance (PM) tasks as assigned.
  • Maintains and operates floor scrubber equipment; coordinates with Tennant and Maintenance for issues.
  • Maintains inventory of propane used for floor scrubbers and communicates replenishment needs.
  • Assists with Case Seal operations on high-volume days or as needed.
  • Maintains flexibility with work hours and shift assignments during Safety Week.
  • Cleans exterior lower-level windows on the west and north sides of the building.
  • Daily computer usage.
  • Daily motorized cart usage.

Job description

PURPOSE OF THE JOB

The purpose of this job is to keep the warehouse clean and in orderly condition.

RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES
  • Performs general housekeeping as directed.
  • Cleans building floors by sweeping, mopping, and/or scrubbing.
  • Supports and follows all Loss Prevention and Safety policies, procedures, programs, and initiatives.
  • Performs monthly, quarterly, and annual preventive maintenance (PM) tasks as assigned.
  • leans and maintains floor scrubber equipment to ensure proper operation. Works with Tennant and Maintenance regarding operational issues with the equipment.
  • Maintains accurate inventory of propane used for floor scrubbers and communicates replenishment needs, as necessary.
  • Assists with Case Seal operations on high-volume days or as needed based on business demands.
  • Maintains flexibility with work hours and shift assignments during Safety Week, including working additional hours and supporting various shifts as needed.
  • Cleans exterior lower-level windows on the west and north sides of the building.
  • Daily computer usage.
  • Daily motorized cart usage.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Warehouse environment, subject to moderate temperature changes. There are minimal health hazards due to working on or around a forklift.
