Role Description

The Associate Neurophysiologist is a full-time, on-site role based in Parkersburg, WV. This role involves setting up and operating neurophysiological monitoring equipment in the operating room, with a focus on spine and other relevant surgical procedures. The Associate Neurophysiologist will acquire, analyze, and document EEG and other neurophysiologic data, communicate findings to supervising neurophysiologists and surgical teams, and help ensure patient safety through continuous monitoring. Daily responsibilities include adhering to established IOM protocols, maintaining accurate case records, and collaborating closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and hospital staff. The role also includes participation in ongoing training, quality assurance initiatives, and compliance with hospital and regulatory standards.

Qualifications
  • Demonstrated knowledge of neurophysiology and medicine applied to surgical and intraoperative environments.
  • Experience or training in intraoperative monitoring and EEG acquisition, interpretation, and reporting.
  • Familiarity with spine-related procedures and their neurophysiologic monitoring requirements.
  • Ability to operate, troubleshoot, and maintain neurophysiologic monitoring equipment and related technology.
  • Strong attention to detail, critical thinking, and decision‑making skills in a high‑acuity clinical setting.
  • Effective communication skills to interact with surgeons, anesthesiologists, neurologists, and other clinical staff.
  • Ability to work on‑site in Parkersburg, WV, with flexibility for surgical schedules and on‑call coverage as needed.
  • Relevant academic background in neurophysiology, neuroscience, biomedical engineering, or a related field; certification or eligibility for certification in IOM or EEG is preferred.
