Job description

Meaningful work. Rewarding career.

Thrivent Financial is a faith based, not for profit financial services organization serving approximately 2.6 million clients nationwide. As the nation’s largest fraternal benefit society, Thrivent exists to help people thrive—through financial solutions, community engagement, and support of Christian and nonprofit organizations.

Monarch Group is an independent financial services practice of Thrivent Financial. We take a comprehensive, client centered approach to helping individuals and families achieve multiple financial goals. Wealth Advisor Benjamin Koehlinger works closely with clients to analyze their current financial situation, develop in depth plans, and implement integrated financial strategies.

The Associate provides high‑quality client service and advice, as well as operational support to Benjamin Koehlinger and the Monarch Group. This role serves as the primary contact for assigned developing and emerging client relationships, while also supporting the advisor’s established and growth client base. Responsibilities are approximately evenly split between these two areas.

The Associate contributes to the firm’s long‑term growth by delivering consistent, compliant, and detail‑oriented service and advice, and by independently executing client requests, transactions, and day‑to‑day practice operations within established firm processes and licensing guidelines. The ideal candidate is highly organized, client‑focused, and professional, with strong communication, time‑management, and problem‑solving skills. This position offers opportunities for professional growth, including support for required licensing and ongoing development.

This position is employed by and reports directly to Benjamin R. Koehlinger.

Associate Position Responsibilities
  • Support client service needs by preparing forms, processing transactions and trades, and coordinating service requests.
  • Provide responsive and professional client communication, including scheduling coordination, account maintenance support, and follow‑up on outstanding items.

  • Research client inquiries and assist with meeting preparation and post‑meeting follow‑up, including notes organization.
  • Prepare, process, and submit paper and electronic applications, service documents, and account updates.
  • Run product illustrations and support proposal and presentation preparation.
  • Communicate professionally and effectively with clients, the practice team, Thrivent home office partners, and third‑party providers.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of client interactions, transactions, and service activity.
  • Adhere to established workflows, service standards, and compliance requirements.
  • Perform additional administrative duties or special projects as assigned, based on business needs and level of experience.
  • Conduct client interactions and advice‑related activities in alignment with licensing and supervisory guidelines.
Position Qualifications & Competencies
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision following training.
  • Demonstrated collaboration through proactive communication and contribution to team objectives.
  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail and task follow‑through.
  • Professional, clear, and concise written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and communication channels simultaneously.
  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and decision‑making capabilities.
  • Effective time‑management skills, including the ability to prioritize work and manage frequent interruptions.
  • Commitment to delivering an excellent client experience while minimizing client effort.
  • Client‑focused mindset with the ability to build and support long‑term client relationships.
  • Proven ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and integrity.
  • Familiarity with financial services terminology and advisory practice environments.
  • Flexibility and adaptability in response to changing priorities, procedures, and business needs.
  • Functional proficiency with technology, systems, and office tools used in a financial services environment, with the ability to quickly learn new platforms and firm‑specific tools.
