Associate Merchant – Gift & Floral

Minneapolis, MN

As an Associate Merchant – Gift & Floral, you'll help turn merchandising strategies into reality through vendor partnerships, product setup, purchase orders, pricing, and promotions. This role offers hands‑on experience across all aspects of category management while helping create an inspiring shopping experience for our customers.

Position Duties:

• Manage purchase orders, including creation, tracking, vendor follow‑up, and issue resolution.
• Coordinate vendor communications, order confirmations, delivery schedules, and product samples.
• Support new product setup, item maintenance, and pricing accuracy across systems.
• Assist with pricing strategy, promotional setup, and campaign execution.
• Manage vendor relationships and finished goods sourcing decisions.
• Oversee product lifecycle activities, including product launches, markdowns, and discontinuations.
• Partner with Marketing and Visual Merchandising to support promotions, signage, and product placement.
• Participate in seasonal planning, inventory forecasting, and demand review discussions.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in business, merchandising, or related field preferred
• 1-2+ years of experience in buying support, retail merchandising, or related analytical/administrative role
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Experience in specialty retail, gift, home décor, or seasonal retail environments preferred
• Experience with NetSuite or similar merchandising/inventory systems preferred
• Interest in pursuing a Category Merchant/Manager career path preferred
• Ability to work in an office and retail store environment
• Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds
• Ability to work additional hours during peak seasonal periods as needed
