Providence Warrenton Clinic in Oregon is seeking a Medical Assistant I to support licensed practitioners with basic patient care, performing both administrative and clinical duties under established policies and procedures.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of accredited medical assisting program with hands-on clinical training.
  • Graduate of a registered medical assistant apprenticeship program.
  • Has completed two years of medical training in the United States Armed Forces.
  • Minimum one year of work experience as a medical assistant including vital signs, injections, and medication administration.
  • Upon hire: National Provider BLS - American Heart Association.
  • Medical assisting experience in a clinic setting (0-6 months).

Responsibilities

  • Assist licensed practitioner under delegation to provide basic patient care.
  • Perform administrative and clinical duties per policies and regulations.
  • Obtain vital signs and administer injections.
  • Administer medications as directed and support medication administration.
  • Support Warrenton clinic operations and float to primary care as needed.

Description

The Medical Assistant (MA) I works under the delegation of a licensed practitioner to perform duties as directed to assist in providing basic patient care to assigned patients. Basic patient care needs will be met though both administrative and clinical duties. An MA I is expected to perform in accordance with established policies, procedures, and regulations. This position will be for the Warrenton walk in clinic with a float option to help Warrenton primary care when needed.

Required Qualifications:
  • Coursework/Training: Graduate of an accredited school that includes hands on training in a clinical setting for medical assistants
  • Coursework/Training: Graduate of a registered medical assistant apprenticeship program
  • Coursework/Training: Has completed two years of medical training in the United States Armed Forces
  • Coursework/Training: Minimum one year of work experience as a medical assistant that includes the following clinical skills: obtaining vital signs, administering injections, and medication administration
  • Upon hire: National Provider BLS - American Heart Association
  • Medical assisting experience in a clinic setting (0-6 months).
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 6 months of Prior experience providing a high level of customer service in a fast-paced environment.
  • 6 months of Previous experience in a healthcare setting working with an Electronic Health record (EHR).
