Job summary

L3Harris Technologies in Huntsville, AL is seeking an Associate, Mechanical Engineering to contribute to the design of aircraft structures, mission equipment installations, and mechanical systems. Responsibilities

• Participates in the design of detail parts, assemblies, and installations for aircraft structures, mission equipment installations, and mechanical systems installations.
• Applys basic engineering design and analytical theory with understanding of structural analysis for integrated system design.
• Develop layouts and prep engineering drawings; coordinate design activities with Tooling, Flight Sciences, Manufacturing, and Production to meet requirements at minimum cost.
• Use world-class, three-dimensional solid modeling CAD tools; work with senior-level design engineers on a wide variety of tasks and aircraft systems.

Job Description:

Participates in the design of detail parts, assemblies, and installations for aircraft structures, mission equipment installations, and mechanical systems installations. Engineer applies basic engineering design and/or analytical theory with understanding of structural analysis for application to integrated system design. Engineers will be responsible for research, development of layouts, preparation of engineering drawings, and coordination of design activities with Tooling, Flight Sciences, Manufacturing, and Production to ensure that designs meet requirements at minimum cost. Designs will be accomplished using world-class, three-dimensional solid modeling CAD tools and work will be accomplished with senior-level design engineers. Mechanical design engineers have the opportunity to work on a wide variety of tasks and aircraft systems on various aircraft platforms.
