Position Summary
As an Associate Manufacturing Technician (2nd Shift) in the Insulation & Sizing department, you will be responsible for conducting mechanical assembly, disassembly, and installation activities related to the production of power transformers.
Hours: 4:30 p.m.-12:00 a.m. (CST)

Essential Functions:

• Perform manufacturing tasks such as loading and unloading machinery, operating non-CNC equipment, including gluing, clamping, painting, coating, testing, and oil filling equipment.
• Assemble and disassemble parts or units; position, align, and fasten assemblies using hand tools and power tools per specifications.
• Measure and adjust parts with measuring instruments like calipers and micrometers.
• Inspect, verify, and document quality criteria during manufacturing to meet specifications and customer requirements.
• Connect, crimp, solder, and braze internal leads and wiring according to specifications.
• Wrap, tape, or insulate leads and wires according to work instructions.
• Perform basic electrical tests to confirm wiring and insulation quality.
• Follow prints, bills of material, and work instructions for processing, assembly, and installation.
• Disassemble units for parts replacement or shipping packaging.
• Fabricate wooden parts, fixtures, and packaging for delivery.
• Operate equipment for vacuuming, oil filling, and recovery safely.
• Clean and lubricate parts and subassemblies as needed.
• Handle and store materials safely.
• Follow standard work procedures to ensure safety, quality, and productivity.
• Perform TPM tasks and practice 6S, adhering to safety rules.
• Operate material handling equipment such as cranes and forklifts.
• Assist other manufacturing areas and support supervisors or managers.
• Work under Hyosung HICO policies and understand safety, quality, and environmental policies.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent; less than two years of related experience or training.
• Intermediate mechanical/technical skills.
• Experience with hand and power tools.
• Basic math and geometry skills.
• Basic computer skills, especially MS Office.
• Basic knowledge of industrial measuring tools.

Physical and Mental Characteristics:

• Ability to safely use tools and measurement devices.
• Ability to work at heights and climb stairs.
• Ability to read, write, and follow instructions.
• Ability to judge work quality and operate powered equipment.
• Ability to work indoors, stand/walk for 6-8 hours, and perform physical tasks including lifting up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to work in restricted spaces and at heights up to 20 feet.
• Use of PPE required.
