Job summary

Johnson & Johnson is seeking an Associate Manufacturing Engineer to coordinate Supply Chain Manufacturing Engineering activities within our MedTech and vision-focused initiatives. You will ensure project plans are reviewed, implemented, and completed on schedule and within budget.

The role requires collaboration with Quality and R&D to integrate new products and processes into the manufacturing area, monitor equipment performance, and drive process improvements for better yields and efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Initiates and completes technical activities to new or improved products or processes, for current programs, next generation programs and to meet strategic goals and objectives of the company.
• Analyzes and solves problems from basic engineering principles, theories and concepts through to a wide range of complex and advanced problems which require novel and new innovative approaches or a major breakthrough in technology.
• Incorporates business policies and procedures into task completion. Understands the business needs of the company and has knowledge of the customer needs of our business.
• Cultivates internal and external network of resources to complete tasks. Serves as a resource in the training of new engineers and employees.
• Interacts cross functionally and with internal and external customers. Serves as a consultant for engineering or scientific interpretations and advice on significant matters.
• Interfaces with Quality and Research and Development organizations to integrate new products or processes into the existing manufacturing area.
• Monitors performance of equipment, machines, and tools and corrects equipment problems or process parameters that produce nonconforming products, low yields or product quality issues.
• Drives the optimization of process output and throughput, equipment utilization, equipment downtime, waste reduction/yield improvements, budget management, standard cost, and capital investment management in a creative manner.
• Provides technical support to peers and production areas in evaluating process deficiencies, process changes, modifications, and equipment failure.

Purpose

Coordinates Supply Chain Manufacturing Engineering by ensuring that project plans are comprehensively reviewed, implemented, and completed on schedule and within budget. Assists in the development and execution of detailed engineering project plans that will lead to improved performance and efficiencies by capitalizing on standard project management tools. Arranges the translation of relevant manufacturing data into broadly understandable terms to communicate project progress with leadership. Conducts effective and efficient use of project engineering tools and techniques to solve opportunities. Arranges status reports on assigned projects in various formats to various organizational levels. Understands and applies Johnson & Johnson's Credo and Leadership Imperatives in day-to-day interactions with team.
