Job summary

Hut 8 is seeking an Associate Manager, Data Center Operations to lead and develop a technical team at a data center near Odessa, TX. You will oversee preventive maintenance, ensure 24/7 uptime, and coordinate with IT, HR, Networking, and Software teams to keep critical infrastructure running efficiently.

The role requires hands-on technical experience with mechanical/electrical systems, a proven supervisory background, and the ability to manage procurement and vendor relationships.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of supervisory experience in a critical infrastructure environment (military background considered)
• Background in Mechanical or Electrical engineering preferred
• Strong leadership qualities and hands-on technical experience
• Experience with commercial mechanical and electrical systems
• Experience with IT-related infrastructure maintenance is desired but can be acquired
• Forklift license preferred
• Must be organized, detail oriented, and able to multitask

ABOUT THE ROLE

As an Associate Manager, Data Center Operations, you'll be at the forefront of our mining operation, ensuring that our critical infrastructure is running 24/7. You'll be working directly with the Manager, Data Center Operations, overseeing all routine and preventive maintenance activities, building and training a team of technicians, and using your expertise to keep our equipment running at peak efficiency. From new generation computers to sophisticated mechanical and electrical systems, you'll be working with some of the most advanced equipment the field has to offer. Key responsibilities

• Help the Manager, Data Center Operations manage all aspects of the operations, including personnel, equipment, and infrastructure
• Mentor, train, and develop technicians and specialists so that they can support daily operations with minimal supervision
• Manage and facilitate purchasing and inventory control across all data center assets and equipment
• Effectively identify and resolve time sensitive issues under pressure
• Create, manage, and execute on preventative maintenance plans for data center equipment
• Manage and continually develop critical vendor and contractor relationships
• Spearhead fixes and improvements with other departments such as IT, HR, Networking, and Software
• Promote and maintain a culture centered around merit based recognition and rewards
• Promote safety, security and compliance in all aspects of data center operations
• And other duties as assigned

ABOUT YOU

• 2+ years of supervisory experience in a critical infrastructure environment (related military experience would be considered)
• Background in Mechanical or Electrical engineering preferred
• Strong leadership qualities and hands on technical experience
• Understanding of office programs and computer hardware
• Experience with commercial mechanical and electrical systems
• Experience with IT related infrastructure maintenance is desired, but can be acquired
• Forklift License preferred
• Basic understanding of electrical, plumbing, and carpentry
• Ability to work with minimal supervision
• Must be organized, detail oriented, self-motivated, and able to multitask
• Must pass a motor vehicle check
• Must have own reliable transportation to get to and from the designated work site location
• Must live within a 1 hour commute from the designated work site location
