Job Description and Duties

The Commission on Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) is recruiting to fill an Associate Management Auditorpositionin the Compliance, Audit, and Accountability Bureau.

Working Conditions

This position is located at POST headquarters in West Sacramento, CA. The office is located in a two-story building with a business park setting.

Regular and consistent attendance is critical to the successful performance of this position.

This position is Hybrid and may be eligible for telework, in accordance with the Statewide Telework Policy, and will be required to report to the office as needed/required. The successful candidate must reside in California upon appointment.

  • Describe a situation where you identified a significant control weakness, compliance issue, or process breakdown. How did you analyze the root cause, what methodology or tools did you use, and how you formulate practical, actionable recommendations for management?
  • Internal audit often requires navigating sensitive topics with program managers and auditees. Describe a time when you delivered difficult audit findings or encountered resistance during an engagement. How did you communicate the findings clearly, maintain professional objectivity, and achieve a constructive resolution?

In addition to evaluating each candidate's relative ability, as demonstrated by quality and breadth of experience, the following factors will provide the basis for competitively evaluating each candidate:

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment as well as independently.
  • Ability to prioritize and complete assignments within deadlines.
