Position Summary:

This role provides technical support to the dental implant surface finishing and packaging department (SLx) at the Straumann Manufacturing site in Andover, Massachusetts. The primary focus is ensuring all equipment and processes perform at maximum efficiency. This is a hands-on technical position in an automated production environment, which may also involve direct production of dental implants as deemed necessary by the department Line Chief.

Job Responsibilities:
  1. Perform scheduled preventive maintenance for production and support equipment, including cleaning of equipment and adjacent areas.
  2. Perform unplanned maintenance for production and support equipment.
  3. Optimize equipment performance by adjusting, modifying, or tuning to maximize uptime and minimize cycle time.
  4. Assist production associates and operators in setting up and adjusting equipment for specific lots.
  5. Complete and file all maintenance records.
  6. Manage department consumables and spare parts inventory.
  7. Run production equipment or perform manual tasks as directed.
  8. Ensure all operations comply with environmental, health, and safety procedures.
  9. Obtain OSHA Hazmat first responder certification within 12 months of hire.
  10. Perform other duties as assigned.

Physical Attributes:
  • Lift 50 lbs without restriction.
  • Utilize manual dexterity to manipulate small objects.
Work Environment:
  • Work in ISO7 clean rooms with appropriate attire.
  • Handle hot acids, abrasive media, inert and compressed gases.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 2+ years in an automated production environment.
  • 2+ years experience with MS Word and Excel.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in medical device manufacturing and quality systems.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment.
  • Understanding of mechanical devices and troubleshooting skills.
