Good Samaritan Society in Fargo, ND is seeking a part-time Maintenance / Facilities Worker. The role focuses on light maintenance and cleaning tasks under supervision, with safety and care in patient/resident areas.

You may troubleshoot, use hand tools and meters, and help with mechanical and other general duties. Shifts are day, with on-call potential; reliability and time management are essential in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience in all types of building maintenance preferred.
• Valid driver's license and good driving record may be required.
• CPR/BLS may be required upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform light maintenance repair and cleaning tasks under supervision.
• Explain conditions and situations clearly while troubleshooting.
• Use hand tools, meters, measuring devices and gauges.
• Assist with installation and maintenance of mechanical and stationary systems as needed.
• May perform housekeeping, laundry, and maintenance duties under Environmental Service Department.

Department Details

Looking at 8am-1pm OR 12-5pm Monday through Friday. No weekends/no holidays. Potential On Call as back-up to the Maintenance Supervisor.

Must be reliable, able to multitask in a fast paced environment, and have time management.

Job Summary

Responsible for light maintenance repair and cleaning tasks completed under supervision in a safe, professional manner under the direction of the Maintenance Supervisor. Must take extra precautions when working in patient/resident care areas and specifically keep tools out of the reach of children. Must possess basic mechanical knowledge and show competence in the use of hand tools, meters, measuring devices and gauges. A familiarity of blueprints, schematics and technical manuals helpful. Must be able to explain conditions and situations accurately while troubleshooting. Ability to work all shifts and hours as scheduled. Must comply with all corporate and facility policies and dress code. Understand written and verbal communications. Works independently with minimal supervision. Must have knowledge of federal, state, and local codes, specifications, and ordinances. Depending on facility size, additional duties may include but are not limited to: perform installation and maintenance of mechanical and stationary systems, including boiler operations, to ensure a safe and efficient environment; maintain campus grounds and perform other outside maintenance duties; perform general duties such as electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, HVAC, and bed repair and maintenance. May require on-call duties as needed or as directed by the department.

Can assist with housekeeping, laundry, and maintenance duties under the Environmental Service Department.
