Valero Energy is seeking an Associate Logistics Systems Optimization Technical Specialist to support, administer, and optimize enterprise logistics systems. You will serve as a technical SME for configuration, integrations, data integrity, reporting, testing, and solution delivery, working with stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions.

The role emphasizes analyzing system performance, developing dashboards and reports, and ensuring data accuracy across enterprise systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or higher degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or related field, or equivalent required.

Responsibilities

• Serve as technical administrator for assigned Logistics Systems Optimization applications.
• Configures, maintains, and optimizes system functionality, workflows, business rules, and application settings to support business requirements.
• Designs, develops, and maintains reports, dashboards, data extracts, and analytical tools to support business decision-making.
• Supports application integrations and data exchanges between enterprise systems, ensuring data accuracy and integrity.
• Translates business requirements into technical specifications and develops system enhancements to address operational needs.
• Plans, coordinates, and executes testing activities, including integration, regression, and deployment validation testing.
• Develops and maintains technical documentation, system configurations, and support procedures to ensure operational continuity.

As an Associate Logistics Systems Optimization Technical Specialist, you will support, administer, and optimize enterprise business systems that support Logistics operations. Serve as a technical subject matter expert responsible for system configuration, integrations, data integrity, reporting, testing, and technical solution delivery. Collaborate with stakeholders to develop and implement technology solutions and exercises independent judgment in analyzing system issues and recommending improvements.

• Serves as technical administrator and subject matter expert for assigned Logistics Systems Optimization applications.
• Configures, maintains, and optimizes system functionality, workflows, business rules, and application settings to support business requirements.
• Analyzes system performance, troubleshoots complex issues, and implements sustainable technical solutions to improve reliability and efficiency.
• Designs, develops, and maintains reports, dashboards, data extracts, and analytical tools to support business decision-making.
• Supports application integrations and data exchanges between enterprise systems, ensuring data accuracy and integrity.
• Translates business requirements into technical specifications and develops system enhancements to address operational needs.
• Plans, coordinates, and executes testing activities, including integration, regression, and deployment validation testing.
• Develops and maintains technical documentation, system configurations, and support procedures to ensure operational continuity.
• Collaborates with Information Services, vendors, and business stakeholders to implement upgrades, enhancements, and strategic technology initiatives.
• Identifies opportunities for automation, process optimization, and continuous improvement through effective technology solution.

This position is salaried exempt status, which means you are not eligible for overtime pay.
