Maron Marvel seeks two Associate Attorneys to join its Ridgeland, Mississippi office. We are looking for experienced civil litigators for our General Liability and Casualty Defense Group.

Successful candidates will have strong research, writing, and litigation skills and must be licensed in Mississippi. Join a national litigation team serving Fortune 500 clients with robust case management from state to federal court, deposition and trial preparation, and client communications.

Qualifications

• J.D. degree from an accredited law school
• Licensed to practice in Mississippi (additional licensure in Louisiana or Alabama is a plus)
• 3-7 years litigation and General Liability & Casualty Defense experience in state and/or federal courts
• Demonstrated ability and desire to manage caseload proactively from start to finish
• Strong work ethic, ability to self-manage and work in a team environment
• Strong research ability, written and oral communication skills
• Strong organization and problem-solving skills
• Desire to deliver exceptional client service and contribute to continued client development

Responsibilities

• Proactive case management from start to finish in both state and federal courts
• Drafting of pleadings, written discovery, motions, and research therefore
• Frequent client communications and reporting
• Comprehensive legal analysis, case evaluations, and strategy recommendations
• Expert witness coordination and collaboration
• Deposition, court hearing, and mediation attendance
• Trial preparation and attendance
