Job summary

MGM Resorts International is seeking an Associate Legal Counsel—Risk Management in Las Vegas to handle general liability litigation and advise multiple business units on risk management. The role demands strong research, drafting, and discovery skills, plus leadership in supporting cross-border matters.

The ideal candidate will have a JD, Nevada bar admission, 5+ years of relevant experience, and a background in M&A/corporate law, with a preference for resort-industry exposure and international

Qualifications

• Hold a Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
• Minimum 5+ years of relevant experience in M&A/corporate law.
• Current admission to the State Bar of Nevada.
• Experience with international transactions and corporate governance is preferred.
• Experience supervising outside counsel and coordinating with advisors domestically and internationally is preferred.
• Experience with public corporations and corporate governance is preferred.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally is preferred.
• Previous experience in a resort setting is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Represent the Company in state and federal court litigation related to general liability claims.
• Perform legal research, draft pleadings, and handle discovery and motion practice.
• Provide sound legal advice to business units on general liability matters and risk management.
• Develop and maintain relationships with internal business groups requiring legal support.
• Demonstrate leadership and teamwork in a collaborative environment.
• Supervise paralegals and staff on work assignments.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned by the Legal Counsel—Risk Management.
